Easter

If you've been reading for a while, you know Easter is my all time favorite! Like we sang at church yesterday...."greatest day in history, Jesus is alive!". Love it! We had such a fun weekend, even though we had the stomach flu lingering and haunting the few left waiting to get it. Our weekend was filled with meaningful friends. and easter egg hunts and family...perfect (minus the germs).

We started the weekend at a Down Syndrome Easter Egg Hunt, there were a lot of cuties like this one there.

Then it was Easter at my parents. My mom made is so special with amazing games and her usual incredible decorations.

And this is what a ham coma looks like, well this is what an ear infection after the stomach flu looks like, no ham for this cutie this year.

I'm Kristen..just a girl simply pursuing my Savior and learning to abide in Him daily...pushing myself to be still and know that He is God. Most days you'll find me on the floor doing therapy homework with m y three special gifts, trying like mad to change their future. And at the same time, in awe that God thought me worthy to be called "Mom" by these. I'm married to a man who clings tightly to my hand and guides me where our Father leads. And in my spare time...well, I'm just a mom aching for my kids to someday stand before our God and hear "Well, done my good and faithful servant."

The moment the social worker placed him in my arms....oh the ache of a mother's love. Adopted at one week old, God used this boy to create a family for two childless parents who only ever wanted to be called Mom and Dad. He is such a kick! Obedient, reliable, responsible, consistent, and loyal is the normal lingo to describe this first born. But go a bit further and you'll find all the bonus words...in love with football, brilliant, adores mommy chatting it up each night in bed, and thinks Leave it to Beaver rocks...I love this kid BIG.

My middle. She has had to fight big to walk this thing called life. She has known more ache than most women ever know. Evenso, He has a firm grip on my girl. Her heart clings to our Savior and He has held her through many journeys. If you meet her, your heart will fall for her. She is beautiful with eyes that will draw you in, hair that makes a woman ache with envy, but look deep...well then you will see that quiet compassion that behind the scenes will change lives someday. You will see someone who will touch you and you'll be smitten, it'll be too late.

My youngest, the one we begged for. All the while keeping surrendered arms to our Father, the Giver of life. After 12 years of infertility we got to fall in love with nine months of stretch marks, morning sickness, and nurturing our third for 9 months...we got Carter. If you and I could meet over coffee, well then, I'd have a story to tell you. The story of God, a baby who wasn't going to live, and how Down Syndrome became what I begged for. Reality is, coffee isn't going to happen most likely, so read along and fall in love with this red head. Watch him live life soaring, and you'll laugh, you might cry, but you will for sure marvel at our Sovereign God when you watch Him work through this little guy. He is my surprise, my third miracle.
