Hangers

Hangers are making me sad this week. Thought about writing a poem about it, but this will have to do. I remember almost 6 years ago buying hangers at babies r us for my new baby boy. The hangers seemed so big and important, holding the tiniest garments that clothed my dream come true. Well, today those hangers just aren't cutting it anymore. That now almost six year old dream come true has shirts slipping off these hangers. The clothes now present in my dream come true's closet hang on hangers that almost fit my clothes...there is little difference now. The hangers are growing, the dream come true is growing...I don't like it.

He is home

Kirk got home a little while ago and is drugged up and happy...wish I was! Zachary seems to be getting sick...perfect timing huh? So I am being hyper paranoid about germs and Kirk (and me). Don't want him to sneeze right now. Kirk was a sight to see coming home...those white tight panty hose (hee hee) and a walker, walking like a 89 year old man. The kids just stared at him and McKenzie quickly established her position as nurse and tried to kiss his white leggings certain they were the culprit to his pain. Anyway, we just finished a fantastic meal (thanks Julie) and are counting down the hours to bedtime (well, I am counting, thinking about pushing all the clocks forward)...I'm exhausted. Thanks for caring about us enough to actually read this blog...you amaze me with your interest!

Update

I just got home from the hospital, Kirk is doing well. Hopefully he will come home tomorrow! When I left he was just sitting up...the surgery went well and he did great...a champ! I enjoyed a nice day reading a book and taking care of a 34 year old...a sweet break from a 2 and 5 year old. This mom needed a day off...so I enjoyed the nice break! HA HA! Kirk was finally making sense when I left him...drugs were wearing off...he is quite a kick drugged up...says the most interesting things! Thanks for your prayers...keep them up!

His List

Well, tomorrow is surgery day for my husband. For over a year he has tried everything (seriously...even drank fire and rock water...love chirpractors) possible to avoid back surgery. So, he will finished up his track and field day at work today and will not return until the next school year...gulp. It's been a crazy month trying to get everything ready for tomorrow and for the recovery period...I've mentioned my list several times to you and if you know me, you know what was on my list. (if you want to pop in unexpectedly, now is a good time...everything is clean!) Well,Kirk has had a list too and I wanted to share a little bit from his list. Oh, for sure he had things he needed to accomplish...report cards, closing up his office at work, doing the taxes, getting the garage in order and finishing some projects I had him started on (gotta love me). But, I wanted to share with you what was on his list, but not on my list.

His list:

  • Take Zachary to the rodeo
  • go to Jeepers with Zachary
  • Read double the amount of books to Kenzie before bed
  • go hiking with Zachary
  • camp out on the trampoline with the kids
  • linger in the kids room when tucking in
  • do a guys run with z-man (if you are from Canada and are a highschool buddy...you got it!)
  • take Kristen on 4 dates in one month
  • whisper in Kristen's friends ears what she needs over the next couple weeks because he knows she won't
  • find a neighbor we don't even know the name of and ask him to mow the grass to give Kristen a break for a couple weeks
  • give the kids baths while he can
  • hold McKenzie tightly and dance to their song
  • make car tracks in the dirt with ZacharyHave breakfast Jacks with his kiddos
  • snuggle more
  • teach Zachary how to ride a bike
  • color with Zachary at 6:40 in the morning

This past week I've thought over his list and what activities I've observed him doing this past month and a flood of emotion has hit me. I am so blessed to have a husband who has his priorites on straight; who knows cleary that life is short and strives each day to adore his family. Anytime somebody has surgery they think a bit on what happens if it isn't successful and the worst actually happens. I'm not sure if Kirk has thought like that, but I have been blessed this week with those thoughts. I know it isn't a major surgery at all, but still, God has been good in letting me be thoughtful over how amazing the husband I have is. Honestly, when I think of the qualities Kirk not only has, but uses everyday to love me I am embarrased by how little I try each day to reciprocate. He has a deep desire to understand me and to honor me. He strives to meet my needs and almost always meets my wants too. Do you know what he did a couple months ago...He sat me down on the couch and told me he wanted to share something he had been reading in the Bible lately. He tells me it is Proverbs 31. Immediately, I mean immediately I am furious at where I "see" this going. He is going to sit me down and read the chapter that all women look to as an example of how to live and he is going to point some flaws out. (I know, I'm a kill joy, after 12 years of being with this man, you would think I'd have a clue of where the conversation was headed). No, he sat me down, read through each passage, then stopped to reflect how I do the things he was reading. Talk about a gift ladies. My husband affirmed my entire life, my mission for each day, he loved me in the best way I could have been loved. What a guy! So, today, I am thoughtful, reflective, thankful that for some reason this man chose me to love.
I am also thanking God for many of you who have recognized that the next few weeks will be different for us. Thank you for knowing I will turn down your offers of help, therefore you give no options, you just help. I am blessed to have friends like that and wish and pray I was more like you...so selfless and focused on how to help, I'm trying desperately to be more like you...because you so reflect our Father well. If you would like to help, please pray for two specific things: pray for a successful surgery and quick recovery, and then if you would, please pray that I will serve my husband and family as Christ would. That each day I would consider it a priveledge to "wash their feet" and would be filled with a compassion I recognize would only come from a Gracious Father. I want terribly to be selfess and loving in the coming months...no woe is me parties! Thanks for your help! I will not be posting a Friday Feature tomorrow, but will continue it next Friday! Have a great day!

Just a God thing

Okay, just because God is God...I just finished my last post and went to see what my "wise" child was up to...the entire bathroom has shaving cream and a bizillion bubbles all over every wall, door, carpet, cupboard, piece of hair...you name it. Ha...just when I toot my horn, I am humbled and reminded that really, He is in control. Laughing through the bubbles...signing off to scrub the carpets and shower a kiddo!

Soaring Today

My heart is soaring...one of the devastating "facts" we have learned about FAS children/adults is that they have extreme difficulty using wisdom and discernment. When we heard of this, we were admittedly scared to death because we knew no amount of "parenting" or "loving" can change damage done to a brain...damage is damage...dead issue...(well then we know that isn't true don't we...we serve a Mighty God...the only God). So, from that moment on my entire goal for my daughter was to pray intensely for God to fill her withHis wisdom and discernment and if there are times she simply cannot choose, that He would/will sweep her into His powerful arms and choose for her. I decided my huge focus is to get her to know and love the Lord...afterall, that is the only reason I am here...reading, writing, speaking are all great, but standing face to face with our Savior...now that is why I wake up to teach my children each day. We invested in books, songs, movies, whatever spoke of godly characteristics...and made that our focus, still do. Well...I am praising Jesus today...today on the way home from school...the carpool boy and Zachary were being rowdy. McKenzie said "Guys, guys, Guys, be quiet. Guys, guys, be kind." Music to my ears! On Sunday night she told all the cousins and her brother to "be kind" and to "share". Thank you Lord that you are so much bigger than my mind can comprehend. Continue to work miracles in our little girl, thank you for being so evident, for constantly guiding this clueless mom. This just shows a glimmer of discernment and wisdom...she understood right from wrong and then decided to be a bit (sweetly) bossy...love it!

What Now

I pray that many of you had time to read through some of those incredible blogs. Maybe they opened your eyes, maybe you found a new friend, maybe they got you to your knees in prayer, or maybe it opened your heart to the Mighty One. I had a hard time sharing them with you...weird really. I wanted to keep them all to myself, maybe I wasn't ready to share how deeply impacted I was. Whatever the thought, I knew keeping them for myself would be once again keeping my eyes down, focused on my little world. Focusing my eyes more on you my friends, maybe the blogs were what you needed yesterday. Anyways, still can't shake the feelings and am praying earnestly for direction on what to do with it all...something is stirring for sure....so the Road Ahead lies, ready. Enough rambling on...now to something that has made me chuckle throughout the day:
We drove over the train track the other day....pretty big bump. McKenzie said "What Happen"(spelled like her words). I said "We went over a bump" again..."What happen?" We kept driving and she says "Where what happen go?" She turns her head around in her carseat and says "What happen behine us now"...Too funny! Those funny words are so incredibly true aren't they...what happened is behind us now.

Heavy

For the past 2 days my heart has felt heavy, burdened, convicted. Over the past week I have "stumbled" onto some blogs that have changed my life. I have had the honor of being woken in the night to pray for families I only fell in love with via computer. I have been blessed to stare into a box, tears streaming down my face as I read story after story. I have been gifted love for perfect strangers that I will most definitely never meet until we are introduced in Heaven someday, it is then I will hug them strongly and let them know I k now them and have prayed with them deeply. I have mentioned recently about how God has given me the gift of perspective lately, blogs have been His vessel. Reading so many stories of tragedy yet joy filled moments soley because a family knows Jesus Christ as Lord, have opened my eyes to some dissappointing revelations. I had no idea how self-centered I am, how I have created a little world for me, myself, and I. How my prayer life can become so passionately focused on my own needs, completely void of yours or someone you know. I have seen how I can throw myself into the everyday adventures and miss out of the how far the journey has indeed taken me. I can get so bogged down on the mundane, the chores, the therapies, that I miss out on giggles, smiles, growth, miracles. I can get so focused on the wrong agenda that I am missing His. Yet, each days starts out giving my agenda over to Him, but at night, when I lay in bed...I know it was mine that was accomplished. How many people did I tell about Him, did I allow myself to experience discomfort so one might better know my Saviour? Was I so selfish to keep him and my story all to myslef because it just takes too much effort to do otherwise...did I use the excuse that this just isn't the season...too busy wiping bottoms to impact the Kingdom. Then I sit and read these blogs from women who have had a mom's nightmare come true and they are using the experience to shake the world for His Kingdom. I can't seem to do that on a regular Monday after a good sleep, a good meal, and two miracles breathing soundly in bed. Where are my priorities? How shallow can one be? My life has been shaken a bit from reading a few blogs. I want to live differently this day and the day after. How you ask? Not sure, I have been praying for the past year that I will be purposeful and intentional each day. I focused the prayers towards my family...but it must go bigger...you have needs that I must notice. People are hurting all around me while I stay in my sweet bubble. Don't know what needs to be done, but the wheels are turning within my mind. My prayer this morning was full of thankfulness for this revelation and a determination to figure this stuff out.
Blogs are amazing aren't they. I was thinking last night what an incredible way to reach people for Christ! What an amazing thing a blog is...within minutes an entire world could be praying for you...joined together petitioning the Lord. Breathtaking I think...pretty awesome to see how technology can be a vessel for Him. So, where do I go with these thoughts? Not sure, I do know the ache in my heart is heavy this morning, begging to do something about it. For now, the best I can do is share with you my feelings, let you know how humbled I am that you read my crazy nonsense, and tell you that I want to make a difference, and that I want to know you better. I want to do so much more. To start...here are the blogs that have opened my eyes, if you have time...rejoice with these families that we serve THE Sovereign Lord. Rejoice that we know that Jesus was not just man, that He was not just some prophet, No, he IS Lord and He is coming again...He is our hope!
Blogs that will make you weep, possibly change your life:

Meet the New Me

Okay, so I just got new glasses...trying to go for trendy and in style. At the time I must have been feeling hip, but now, I'm not sure what I was thinkin
g. I asked Kirk what he thought and he said "Well, you're always wanting to be trendy." HA! How funny is that! I am so glad that is what he thinks because he is so wrong! If he thinks that though...yeah! I am in workout shorts and t-shirts almost 24/7 the most luxurious thing I wear to bed is a ASU t-shirt. My car is far from trendy, can't remember the last time I bought an outfit...thinking before Kenzie came along, therefore NOT trendy. But, hey trendy was what I was looking for! So, now I've got trendy glasses to wear with my workout clothes! I have thirty days to return my new trendy look, I can replace them with something much more age appropriate. So, what do you think my blogger buddies? Should I jump off the familar cliff and explore new territory? (The color of the glasses are a dark bronze/brown. I know they look black in the pic) Here is one more pic of me trying to look serious and sophisticated...hey now, don't laugh...my feelings are hurt!

What??

So we have this system for Zachary in the morning...if his clock says 7:00 or after he may come out and if there is a green circle by the tv that means he can watch a show quietly before Mom and Dad wake up (pretty much a Saturday thing). Well today we were having family snuggle time in bed and I asked him what show he had watched. He said "The Hundred Naked Woods." HEE HEE! I said "what?" He said louder "The Hundred Naked Woods". I asked him if he meant the Hundred Acre Woods and he smiled and said that that was the one he watched....ha! Too funny (he has never seen the Hundred Acre Woods, so it was new to him, the Hundred Naked Woods is new to me:) )

Friday Feature

If you are in the car a ton...you are going to LOVE this feature...if your kids love to be with you when you're making dinner and you sometimes don't have the most thankful heart over it (I NEVER feel this way...always love a clinger at 5:00 pm ...if you don't know me well, please note I am kidding). There is no name for it, but I'll describe it. Theraputty with Light Bright Pegs pushed in. I know, weird huh? Theraputty is a "silly putty" like substance, it can be ordered in levels of stiffness (therapy benefits). I think for the typical hands, silly putty will work okay, just buy two or three silly puttys. Okay, so hide the pegs in it (you can be creative..use marbles, beans, whatever is little...hey how about polly pocket shoes..hee hee) then your kids use their fine motor skills to find the pegs...my kids LOVE this and will focus on the task for a LONG time...perfect for car rides and dinner time! It is definitely strength building for the hand and arm muscles, as they need to manipulate and move the putty to find the pegs. And then fine motor is awesome with pinching the pegs and pulling them out. Now, here is a down side (come on, there has to be right?) if they pull the putty like strings...it could go on the carpet, floor, etc. I told my kids to "pinch" the putty never pull. McKenzie says "no pull" as she pulls it...we're working on it. But older kids would definitely do well! Here is the link if you would like to order theraputty...it isn't expensive.http://www.sammonspreston.com/Supply/Product.asp?Leaf_Id=5065

Duh

So, how old do you have to be before you believe that you shouldn't pull on a hang nail...you'd think I'd have that one down...darn thing is a bother today. I know, weird post, but it's on my mind.

Checked off His List

I mentioned that Kirk and I both had "lists" of things to accomplish before Surgery day. Well, this was on Kirk's List! He taught his son how to ride without training wheels! We are thrilled and proud of Zachary! I felt like I was watching a movie when I observed the two of them...Zachary riding with his proud Daddy running next to him. You know those gooshy Lifetime movies...yep,that's how it was! One thing you know, Zachary hates to ride his bike, seriously! No amount of briding, (sorry, incentives) or encouraging really helps, so this is a huge deal for us. (He doesn't care all that much). We didn't think the day would come. So now we are trying to get him to practice...I keep telling him once he is good enough we can ride down to Starbucks for family Coffee time as a special treat...he said "there is a shortcut, it's called the car"...smart kiddo.

Perspective

Around the kids' Forever Day I always do a ton of thinking. The kind of thinking that makes you cry throughout the day, thinking that hurts, motivates, loves. I've made a tradition of sitting in their room while they sleep and I write them a letter trying to explain the feeling this mommy has when I think of the fact I'm called Mommy. Reflection is good, reflection makes me stop to think just how amazing it is that I am a mom and how much I take it for granted. To think there was a time not too long ago where the ache I held inside was so intense there were moments I thought for sure I could not bear it. Moments where I screamed at my Father, begging for a baby. Overwhelming times they were. Now, here I am, a mom...the word is the most beautiful word isn't it??? Mom. I waited decades to be known as mom. Well,I'm off track now,sorry...back to perspective. Pondering McKenzie this past weekend, watching the home videos of the day we met her, the day she came home, the moments shared has opened my eyes to the journey we started two years ago. The journey has been very interesting, quite the ride. We have had HIGH HIGH HIGHS and some dark lows. But wow has God been good, even if it had all been dark lows, He would have been good, this I know. God has been working miracles in our little girl, never in my life have I prayed so intensely for a person, even during infertility, I did not know the dept of this prayer. I am not at all saying my prayers changed Mckenzie, no it is my God that is at work within her. Just watching our videos confirmed how very real He has been in her life...what comfort it brings to rest in that. When I see my Father face to face, I will whisper into his ear..."Now Lord, will show me the DVDs of you at work in my daughter". None of my rabblings are making sense to you are they, (doesn't help that McKenzie keeps telling Zachary that he is mean and then he gets offended, and towers of blocks keep getting knocked down around me..sorry my focus isn't quite here) even so, I need to ramble to document these feelings...it is a therapy moment for me I guess. So where does perspective come in? I can QUICKLY get the disease called "Woe is Me" the "Nobody Gets How Hard this Is" fungus takes over my body...you know what that is...perhaps I caught it from you...it's contagious!:) Well, lately God has been sending me little glimpses into others' lives...and oh have I been given the gift of perspective. We attended a special needs picnic a few weeks back...what fun! Well, McKenzie definitely did not "fit in" among all the wheel chairs, feeding tubes, "blank stares", no our little girl didn't seem so special needish at that moment and I was embarrased by my pitty parties I am so great at coordinating. I've had the priveledge to read blogs that could break the toughest of hearts, to gain perspective on just how blessed I am, to see just how good I have it. I am so thankful for perspective, for open eyes to see the progress on how far we've come. Now, I'm not saying the pitty parties are over, I am human after all. But for now, I am thankful for the sweet word perspective.

Forever Began Two Years Ago

April 12, Today is McKenzie's Forever Day! What is a Forever Day you ask? It is the day that her adoption was finalized, the day we knew she was our's forever. We celebrate this special day incredibly! We were not there on the day of her birth, but we held her tightly when a judge proclaimed her as McKenzie Grace, OUR McKenzie Grace. So, yes, today we celebrate...thought you might enjoy a glimpse of her journey! (turn your sound up...there is sound too)

It's Here

Meet my new counselor, companion, soul mate, best friend...it's finally here...My Kenmore Progressive!

I have been saving up all my "babysitting" money for this new baby! I ordered it Monday and it came today...I have been giddy all day over this new friend and cannot wait to get acquainted with it tonight! I know there might be disappointment for some of you dear friends, no it is not a bunny, dog, or even a sweet new baby, but to a select faithful few, you get it don't you my friend? You understand just how significant and sweet my new friend really is! If you are new to the blog, you may not understand, just know somewhere in this world tonight, a girl named Kristen is floating on cloud nine over this sweet addition. Signing off, ready to conquer the world...well maybe my floors!

Friday Feature

Digging for Dessert! Okay, this one is new to our family too! Sorry for the "no picture", but it's simple to create! McKenzie has weak wrists (well, honestly, a weak body) and I asked her PT to give me some exercises to do with her. He recommended rice work. Then I thought...Dig for Dessert! Okay, so fill up a small/shoebox size rubbermaid with rice (uncooked) and hide some wrapped candies in the rice, I used tootsie rolls. After lunch and dinner (I do it twice because she actually needs to do the task, so do it whenever you want) I open the box and she uses her fingers to "dig" for dessert. This is a great texture/tactile activity! It also is great for them to try to discern the different feelings of the rice and candy...they have to concentrate! In McKenzie's case she is using weak muscles to move thos fingers through the rice (think digging in moist sand...which by the way is AWESOME therapy!). And a perk...it is a super fun incentive for your kiddo to eat all their veggies to do some diggin! Have fun with it...oh, you might want to set up some boundaries because little kids, rice, bucket...not fun cleaning! My rule is whatever rice drops on the floor, they must pick up...which is a fabulous fine motor skill don't you think? HEE HEE, always thinking! Tune in later for our addition...my heart is palpatating just thinking of it!

Getting Ready

So Kirk's surgery is two weeks away and we are getting ready. We both have crazy long lists of things to accomplish before he is out of commission for the summer. I'll share some of his list in the coming days, but today I'll share mine. Because I know myself...when life is disturbed it is so much easier for me to mentally "breathe" when my home/stuff is organized. So, I've been tearing closets, drawers, pantries apart, organizing them. This is with hope that it will help me stay sane doing the single mom thing again. (for those who don't know me, I do have an amazing husband, I'm not a single mom at all. just when he is out of comission, the single mom title comes out). Yesterday we organized all the games...yuck! I am terrible at maintaining organization...I am known as the shortcut queen! Lazy me, I just have a bucket in the toy closet that I "dump" game pieces that I find. So we went through each game and helped them out. It looks amazing now, but I know myself...the maintainence is not going to be easy...oh well. Today I'm onto the craft cupboard...double yuck! We are off to buy some rubbermaids to organize them better. So, that is my Wednesday morning... what are you doing?

Blogger's Block

Okay, my friends (Caroline) all is well at this home, just a blogger block moment. Not much to write about, not much going on I guess...which feels WONDERFUL! You know what I've been thinking about lately? When people say "What have you been up to?", how do you respond? I just find myself saying "Oh the same old stuff", but other people seem to actually answer it with enthusiastic creativity. Not sure why, maybe I just don't get out much (truth), maybe I'm blah (possible), maybe I have no money (definitley). So, sitting here writing this, I'm motivated to answer the question once and for all. What have I been up to? Deep breath, here goes...Well, on a good day, I've been waking before my children trying to squeeze time with my Father, study, develop, grow, and apply all He has for me. I hop into the shower praying I don't hear a 2 year old yelling at the crack of her door..."I want out...I want out Now!" loud enough to wake up her 5 year old brother who NEEDS sleep. Nope, doesn't usually work, so I run as fast as I can praying I don't slip on the tile with my wet feet because an out of comission mommy spells trouble quick! I grab the two year old as she is tugging at my towel, disturbed it is covering my hair and inquires why I'm wet, she "hopes" she didn't interrupt the luxurious shower huh? I grab her pedia sure because now she is addicted to the stuff and refuses just milk, I feeling guilty knowing she won't eat breakfast if she drinks it...uugh. She begs me to turn on a show and sit on my lap, I am determined no TV until TV time, but boy wouldn't it be nice to catch a glimpse of Ann Cury and Matt Lauer this morning? Kirk rolls out of bed, showers, comes out for breakfast and turns on the Today Show, I give him a dissaproval look because he knows the no TV policy, but I am thrilled he ignores it, because it is so nice to just see it on! We pray together and off he goes. Okay, breakfast done, they choose a show and I run do my hair and makeup trying to make this body look 20 again...one can dream eh? I spend the morning battling the impulses to clean, work on projects, and play with the kids. Extinguishing fights, praising behavior, loving, caring, "theraping" (I realize it's not a word), and begging God to help me show Him to my children each moment, but then there are the moments where I just close my eyes and try to swallow down the frustration, count to ten, whatever...you know...we all do it, then REALLY pray for help in showing Christ to my children. We eat a healthy snack, trying to stay firm that fruit snacks are not healthy (I think they are, my husband and the nutritional facts state otherwise). Then try to fit "education, artsy" stuff into a part of the day, just so the teacher in me can sleep at peace at night. We eat lunch, have multiple clean up times, me constantly wondering if other people feel like all they do is cleanup and if there is a medication out there that would train my brain not to care if things are mess (I know there is...been there, done that ha ha). I spend 89% of the day listening to the sweetest 2 year old say "Hug" which in normal terms means "up", but for some reason the word hug makes you unable to turn her down. So I lug her around, feeling guilty that he isn't getting played with. BREATH....It's 12: lunch is successfully over after singing a thousands songs playing the take a bite and the song turns on game for my two feeding issue children...hurry into the car for school. We are not late people, don't plan on becoming late people, so we are ready to go! Backpack ready, hair is done, oh shoot, I don't look too good, but hey, it's all about the kids anyway?? We make the drive, pray together and drop Z man off at school. I sing to McKenzie at the top of my lungs in the car praying it will keep her awake, because we are NOT going to miss nap time girlie (resort to suckers ofen...don't tell!) ! I take her out (if she is awake we read a couple books) and in bed she goes. Ahhh, Sigh...(a lovely sigh) I make a quick, sometimes healthy lunch if I didn't eat with the kids and drop into the couch...feeling incredibly guiltless that I am eating on the couch when ALL food must stay at the table...I'm giggling with guilt. I spend one beautiful hour watching TV (again, don't tell anyone though okay?). After one hour, I feel guilty that I should be doing something, but oh wouldn't it be nice to just have another hour to nap? Don't worry I don't go there (much) usually hop on the treadmill and get an hour in before Kenz wakes. Then we've got therapy, therapy, therapy, dinner, clean up, clean up, clean up, showers, teeth, stories, devotions, tuck ins, kisses, and goodnights. Ahh, sigh...(yes again). Another day done, (don't worry, I realize I have a husband and that he comes before my children, but for time sake...I'm sticking to the litte people who are considered my "day) then the mental questions...did the day look like it should have? Was I patient, kind, slow to anger, did I choose my minutes wisely? I could have eaten better I'm sure, was dinner decent or did they know it was lasagna from Costco (ha ha) did Zachary, who can't seem to eat any fruits or veggies (he isn't playing us if that's what you are thinking) get enough nutrition to sustain him? Did I work enough with both the kids on their needs and did I meet some wants too? UUGH, all the mental notes that can drive you nuts (please tell me you do it sometimes too?) Occassionally I'll watch TV, stalk my blog friends, read a book, or grocery shop...you know the drill. So, what have I been up to lately? That's about it, every day, and the next day, and the next one still. It is by far the greatest career out there...it is what I set out to do, not a moment goes by when I am not overwhelming thankful (well, if we're being honest, the moments where my eyes are closed and I'm swallowing frustrations...not thinking all the sweet nothings then) that I have been chosen for this task. Awesome job isn't it? So, I'll try to come up with an exciting answer for when somebody asks me what I've been up to. OR maybe, I'll memorize this entry and spew it out at them...now that would be great fun...just might do that!

Friday Feature

This is a toy that has been around a long while and is enjoyed still. This drill set is fun, challenging, and definitely works on hand eye coordination and fine motor skills. It comes with different patterns you can try to make, my kids have more fun just doing their own. Our drill is from Lakeshore Learning and I think it costs $20-$30 "ish". I found it on Amazon today, as well as educationaltoysplanet.com (a cool website). Enjoy! Have a great Friday...I'm off to play with my kiddos!
